Our community has always helped and supported each other in times of need. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie is finding this time is no different.
March 13, 2020 As mentioned yesterday (March 12), we want to remain open to our families who need us most. We will do so as long as we can remain open safely for our Staff, and volunteers, and our families who are unable to keep their children home safely. Pursuant to CDC suggestions, our offerings for the next two weeks (March 16th – March 27th) will, as of this moment, be from 7:30 – 5:15, and limited to 50 elementary school-aged members (at our Madison Street Clubhouse), and limited to 15 middle school-aged members (at our Roy C. March 12, 2020 The coronavirus (COVID-19) is creating a lot of attention globally. We are closely monitoring the evolving coronavirus situation. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) have been updating the country on the status, and what steps should be taken moving forward. There is nothing more important to us than the health and safety of our kids, staff, volunteers, and families. We will continue to consult with the Delaware County Health Department and the Indiana State Department of Health to follow their recommendations, as well as Muncie Community Schools. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie, in partnership with AIM, Meridian Health Services Pediatrics and Suzanne Gresham Center, and Inside Out, will be holding a Back 2 School Extravaganza at our Madison Street Clubhouse, on Friday, July 20th from 3:00 – 6:00 pm.
Well, it’s finally spring here in Muncie. I don’t know about you, but used to be, the smell of freshly cut grass always made me think of baseball. Baseball was my sport, it is the game that I’d play before I played any other. As my knees and back argue that I’m not quite able to play baseball with the vigor I’d once done, there is another sport I now wish I’d learned to play at a younger age. That game is golf.
