AIM Summer, a collaboration in Muncie, Indiana between Boys & Girls Club, Buley Center, Motivate Our Minds, and Ross Center is seeking to fill a temporary contract position of Summer Program Director for a term of 16 weeks.
AIM Summer provides an academic experience to prevent summer loss, an enrichment focus to promote wellness, physical activity, expanded learning and character development opportunities while providing kids with a safe place to learn and grow, caring adult relationships while having FUN!
SUMMER PROGRAM DIRECTOR (Click here for full position description)
Primary Responsibilities include day-to-day administration and oversight of a combined summer program. Initial duties are to participate in the final stages of planning; hiring staff and coordinating logistics. Duties to include management of daily activities; programs and logistics; supervision of staff and volunteers; and coordinate reporting and evaluation.
Minimum Qualifications are at least two years of work experience in a youth center or similar organization. A high school diploma and demonstrated experience in supervising, managing and administering programming. Willingness to work in a high-energy environment, and desire to work with children and families.
Preferred Qualifications include a four-year degree in related field from an accredited college or university, OR comparable experience. Demonstrated experience in organization planning, program development, project management and supervision based on the developmental needs of young people. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
Duties include but are not limited to: day-to-day oversight of program, staff, volunteers, facilities and logistics. Salary, in form of contract stipend, will be commensurate to experience and qualifications.
Position will begin May 1st, 2015 and culminate on or around August 9th, 2015
