The Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie would like to thank the generous donors and sponsors of this year’s Great Futures Start With Us event, presented by Magna Powertrain. The virtual event, held on Thursday, April 22, raised more than $37,000. In true Boys & Girls Clubs innovative fashion, the fundraising event shifted to a solely virtual event enabling the Clubs to increase the net amount raised for Summer Camp by 64%.
Guests were treated to a breakfast for dinner meal prepared by Once Upon a Plate and delivered by the Clubs’ board members. The event kicked off with a performance by the Boys & Girls Clubs’ Dance Team and featured video testimonials of several parents, board members, and community partners. Throughout the evening, guests had the opportunity to view talented Club Kids demonstrating and showing off the programs they enjoy at the Clubs. The event also featured an online auction, sponsored by First Choice Electric, with over 64 auction items on which guests could bid to support the Clubs’ efforts.
Brayden Doolittle spoke of his love for the Clubs and was awarded the 2021 Patrick C. Botts Youth of the Year award sponsored by Ivy Tech Community College. Brayden has been a member of the Roy C. Buley Center Unit and participant in Club programming for over 7 years.
“Brayden is a great young man. I am proud to have him as a part of our Clubs,” said Jason Newman, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie. Brayden will receive a $2,500 scholarship sponsored by Magna Powertrain and Ivy Tech Community College, and a $500 Dress for Success wardrobe sponsored by the City of Muncie.
This event would not have been possible without the contributions of our sponsors.
