Boys and Girls Clubs of Muncie is excited to have a matching gift opportunity provided by Eli Lilly Foundation. This match will double every gift until May 31st up to $100,000 – making every donation twice as impactful for the youth of Muncie and Delaware County. In the next month, we will be highlighting the four main areas of impact, and in this article, we are starting with the much-needed Madison Street Improvements.
The Club was built in 1951 and has been a constant support for the youth in our community ever since. The Boys & Girls Clubs Madison Street Site has served as a hub for after-school tutoring, mentoring, social gatherings, youth activities, and community events. With constant use comes necessary updates and repairs. Through this campaign, we are continuing to improve the Madison Street facility to ensure that it is a safe and comfortable place for every kid who enters the building to enjoy and grow.
One of the areas of improvement is a comprehensive lighting overhaul that replaces all our light fixtures in the gym, classrooms, homework rooms, and other spaces to LED lighting to usher in high-efficiency energy usage and building substantial utility savings. This in turn with ensure a brighter and more welcoming environment for all our students.
Another improvement area is to upgrade the air conditioning system, which will ensure that all our cooling units are operational during the hot summer months. This will create a more comfortable and enjoyable environment for the students who attend Summer Camp at the Club.
A third area of improvement is to expand the camera system to include new cameras in all rooms to provide an extra layer of supervision and security for our Club kids. We have created new learning spaces and homework tutoring rooms in our building and want to ensure that there is continued monitoring.
This matching campaign will help us ensure that we can make a lasting impact in the lives of the kids we serve for years to come. To join us in our mission, visit www.bgcmuncie.org/match to donate today.
