The Eli Lilly Match Campaign was a smashing success! Thanks to your generosity we were able to raise $106,873 and surpass our goal. We accomplished so much these past two months thanks to our generous donors and supporters, and here are some of the highlights.
We were thrilled to celebrate the first anniversary of our after-school programming at The Gathering Site. Our program has had a significant impact, serving the communities of Royerton, Eaton, and Delta Middle School. To celebrate this, we hosted an Open House event where we showcased the facility and highlighted the successful programming we’ve achieved over the past year. The event provided an opportunity for us to share stories from our families and the positive outcomes we’ve seen among the students we’ve had the privilege to support.
With the generous support we received through this match, we successfully concluded another remarkable school year across all three of our sites – Madison Street, Roy C. Buley Center, and The Gathering Site. Thanks to your contributions and dedication, we were able to deliver a wide range of after-school youth programming, positively impacting the lives of our students. Each day, more than 180 students benefited from our programs, receiving academic assistance, engaging in enriching activities, and building essential life skills. The donations we received have been instrumental in providing these opportunities and ensuring a successful and fulfilling school year of youth programming.
At our Madison Street site, we have been able to make substantial improvements in and around the building. To celebrate these improvements, we hosted a reception to showcase the changes and thank all the generous support we received. A major change happened to the front exterior of the building where we installed new signage with graphics that display our three core outcomes: academic & career success, character & leadership, and healthy lifestyles. We also installed new low maintenance landscaping that our kids will be able to contribute to the watering and general upkeep. Inside the building, energy efficient lighting has been installed in every room to create a bright and warm environment that reduces the electrical cost.
As the school year came to a close, we started gearing up for Summer Camp with registration opening May 1st. As the excitement built, every grade was at capacity within just a few weeks. The BGCM Summer Camp runs for 7 weeks where the kids engage in daily educational activities where we focus on Summer Brain Gain. Our kids get time every day to play with their friends outside and in the gym to ensure that they stay physically active. Every week all the kids take two field trips where they can both have fun and learn something new. Thanks to this successful match campaign, 150 kids will be able to create memories this summer that will last a lifetime.
As we look to the months ahead, we are excited to welcome back our kids in the fall for another engaging school year. If you or someone you know is interested in joining the Clubs, our open enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year will start on July 1st. Visit our homepage to learn more.
