The Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie announces that Chief Executive Officer, Jason Newman, will be leaving the organization later this year. “As Jason prepares to step down, we extend our deepest gratitude for his dedicated service to the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie these last 8 years. Under Jason’s leadership, the organization has grown stronger and changed lives for the better,” says Lola Mauer, President of the Board of Directors for the organization.
Jason’s arrival in Muncie when he first began as CEO was the result of a national search process involving the Board and other community leaders. “As a former Vice President of the Board of Directors (of the Clubs) and a member of the CEO search committee that brought Jason Newman to Muncie, I want to express my deep appreciation for his leadership and passion,” says WaTasha Barnes Griffin, CEO of YWCA Central Indiana. “Jason’s commitment to our youth, his collaborative spirit, and his vision for equity and inclusion have left a meaningful mark on this organization. While we are saddened by his departure, we remain proud of what has been accomplished during his tenure and are confident that the foundation he helped lay will continue to support the Club’s growth and success.“
Under Jason’s leadership, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie has built strong relationships and trust with local foundations, donors, and corporate funders. Jud Fisher, President & CEO of the Ball Brothers Foundation, shared that “over the past decade, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie has evolved significantly. Jason brought a wealth of experience from having worked for other Clubs and has used his knowledge to transform much of the Club’s work. Jason and the Board have positioned the Clubs for success moving forward, and we are excited to see how the next leader will build on this momentum.”
Jason Newman shared, “I am very proud of the work that we’ve done at the Clubs over the past 8 years. I came here to Muncie to do this job, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie will always have a special place in my heart. I believe that it is time for a new leader to tell our story, while I look to continue the work of assisting those who need us most, here in Muncie, and Delaware County. I’ve grown to love this town, and will be here to support the new leadership so that our kids can have the Clubs they deserve.”
The search for the next CEO is underway and is being led by the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. President Lola Mauer and the Board “remain focused on ensuring a smooth transition and a strong future for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie. The Board of Directors is fully committed to finding a successor who not only brings strong leadership and vision but also embodies the values and spirit of our community. We are seeking a leader who will be a passionate advocate for youth, deepen community ties, grow support and partnerships, and continue to elevate the Clubs as a vital resource for children and families.”
