Dear Boys & Girls Clubs Families,
The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. Now is the time that our members need us most. We will be remain open for our members as long as we can remain open safely for our Staff, and volunteers, and our families who are unable to keep their children home safely. Pursuant to CDC suggestions, our offerings for the next two weeks (March 20th – March 27th) will, as of this moment, be from 8:00 – 5:15, and limited to 30 members (at our Madison Street Clubhouse). Preregistration will be required. Pursuant to the state of emergency declared at the State, and Local Levels, we will only be open for members who work in essential fields (health care, emergency services, food distribution).
Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie will be here for those who need us most in the following ways:
- Club staff will be at the Madison Street Clubhouse to provide in Club care for members who need us most. This service is for families who work in “essential” fields (health care, emergency services, food distribution, etc.). We will provide care from 8:00 – 5:15 pm free of charge for members, and will provide breakfast, lunch, and a snack.
- We will be performing wellness checks of members, and staff, as they enter the building, and upon any display of symptoms.
- We will be posting, regularly, on our Facebook and Twitter feeds some ideas for healthy lifestyles, fun games, and we are working on a way to help parents with your child’s e-learning packets. In addition, Club staff will be calling home to help parents, and Club members through this difficult time. We remain committed to helping mentor your child through this pandemic.
We are closely following this situation, and are in contact with other child serving, and health care agencies to minimize the transmission of this virus. Thank you for working with us to keep all of our staff, volunteers, and members safe. We will continue to monitor the situation and update you regularly as things change.
