1710 Dance Program

1710 DANCE PROGRAM:

The Boys & Girls Club’s dance program uses a multi-faceted approach, requiring dance team members to meet minimum volunteer and academic requirements as well. Students learn and perform hip-hop, majorette, contemporary and worship styles. Members must submit quarterly report cards and maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point average to continue performing, while also completing academic hours in the Boys & Girls Club’s Project Learn. Members participate in volunteer projects on a monthly basis, and attend workshops as available. Workshops are designed around dancer’s interest in the arts, while lessons promote:

• Self-esteem
• Organizational skills and time management
• Communication skills
• Personal growth and goal-setting
